Lecturing and Facilitation

Martyn has worked extensively as a Lecturer and facilitator in a wide range of environments from vocational Drama School training, Outreach and Community Theatre, Youth Theatre, Schools and Education work.

Since September 2016 Martyn has been a member of the Acting Faculty at the CDMT Accredited MGA Academy in Edinburgh and lecturing across the Acting and Musical Theatre Programmes in with particular specialisms in Acting with Text, Physical Theatre, Clowning, Actor Creator/Ensemble work and Voice and Accent work. Martyn has also played a key role within the development of the BA (Hons) Acting and Musical Theatre Programmes at MGA which launched in 2018.

 

*the ‘you really believe you can change the world with a lift of your arm’ was a note within rehearsal of in house scene work from Dance Nation by Clare Barron, though is a nice idea! 

In 2020 Martyn also complete his MEd in Learning and Teaching in the Performing Arts with the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland. Martyn’s specialist areas of study included Mental Wellbeing within vocational drama school training, exploration of models of devised practices, and models for musical composition work within a devised theatre setting.

Previous experience within outreach, youth and community work includes working for organisations including National Youth Theatre, Old Vic, Almeida Theatre, Scottish Youth Theatre, Royal Conservatoire Scotland, East 15 Acting School, YTAS, Tramway and Impact Arts.
